About Me
I’m a crochet teacher based in Lisbon, offering in-person workshops, private lessons, and creative courses for children and adults. I specialize in clothing and accessories and in using crochet as a tool for expression, connection, and well-being.
Belén ◆ Art Educator
I studied Educational Sciences and specialized in Art Education, a field I began working in in 2022. Along the way, I was drawn to textile arts — especially crochet — for the calm it brings and the quiet sense of accomplishment it offers. What fascinates me most is how crochet, though often seen as craft, can become a form of functional art: not just something you use or wear, but a way to express who you are through colors, textures, and forms. I’m particularly passionate about colorwork techniques like tapestry and intarsia, which allow you to translate drawings into fabric. I love working with both children and adults, and sharing the magic that crochet can bring into their lives.
My vision
I envision a community of crocheters who weave with yarn, projects, and dreams. I believe that crochet, with its therapeutic potential, can help us untangle our thoughts and unlock our creative capacity.
My mission
I aim to cultivate presence, a sense of community, and deep satisfaction through the practice of crochet. In a world that urges us to rush, I believe that the repetitive patterns and rhythms of crochet can bring back the calm we need to truly enjoy the present.
My values
Creativity
I encourage experimentation with shapes, colors, and textures so that each person can discover their own style within crochet
Well-being
I see crochet as a therapeutic practice that helps reduce stress, improve concentration, and support emotional balance.
Community
I create a space where people can learn together, share knowledge, and strengthen social bonds through crochet.
Heritage
I reinterpret traditional crochet techniques with a contemporary lens, keeping them relevant and appealing today.
